The merger in 2008 of Bushy Equine Vets and Willesley Equine Clinic has been a great success and the 9 Directors and 60 strong team are looking forward to utilisng the new facilities of the new site. The centre is next to Bushy Equine Vets’ present site at Breadstone. We will still operate from all four of the present sites: Willesley’s current site in Gloucestershire and Bushy’s centres in Failand, North Somerset, and Cardiff.
Director Richard Hepburn comments, the Hospital will be “one of Europe’s most advanced diagnostic and surgical centres” adding “We believe that, with ongoing advances in equine veterinary science, there is a continual need to provide even better facilities and equipment”
“By merging we are able to afford to build the most complete equine hospital in the South West, with MRI, CT, scintigraphy, orthopaedic and colic theatres, adult and neonatal intensive care suites, full, on-site laboratory and separate isolation facilities. The hospital will also have first-class intensive care facilities.”
Breadstone was picked for the building project because it is located close to the M4 and M5 intersection, making it easily accessible from all directions. As a group we are also continuing to invest in the latest portable equipment, including video endoscopes, digital radiography and ultrasound scanners, so that when appropriate we can undertake more specialist work at client’s yards.
Our aim is to provide horse owners with easy access to a wider range of clinical services. They will also benefit from the increased buying power of the enlarged group.
However by maintaining clinics at our current sites we will continue to offer that “local” practice service that so many of our clients have enjoyed over the years. The team will continue to provide excellent first opinion services from its established team of over 20 vets, along with increased combined surgical, medical and stud expertise.
