Insemination Centre

Mares can be admitted to the Willesley Clinic for insemination with chilled or frozen semen.

We have  been instrumental in the development  of Artificial Insemination in the UK over the last 20 years, and can offer you the benefit of their experience gained in that time.

Prior to your mare’s arrival at the Clinic, please ask your vet to take a clitoral swab and blood test for EVA and Strangles. The blood tests need to be taken within one month of her arrival. Screening for infectious diseases hopefully provides peace of mind for all owners, that their mare will not be at risk whilst at Willesley.

Chris Shepherd or any of his colleagues from the stud department are available to discuss and answer any questions you may have regarding artificial insemination.

All the vets fees package details are available on request.
