World Mental Health Day
Monday 10th October was World Mental Health Day and B&W team took a few minutes to come together at each of our clinics to discuss mental health, share personal stories, and open up about their own feelings. 1 in 4 people in the UK have been affected by mental health issues over the past 12 months and those in the veterinary profession are 3-4 times more likely to die by suicide than the general public. Peer support is so important - no one should suffer in silence and World Mental Health Day gives us the opportunity to raise awareness of mental health issues and help people understand, protect and sustain their mental health.
Our lovely HR manager Gemma Purchase provided each of the clinic teams with a dedicated 'Tea and Talk' cakes, made by Carol Potts (pictured), Stud Office Manager at our Willesley Clinic, to encourage everyone to take part.
We had a great turn out for the event, and the cake and tea went down a treat.
Staff had the opportunity to talk about this worthy cause. Some of the B&W directors were also keen to open up and share some of their own personal stories and support.
We are so pleased that we were able to be participate in this event.
Here are some photos from the day.
