Wow! Well how fast did the last year go! So many changes, new rides, clients and friends. Oh yes, I also got married!
So where do I start? Mr Willoughby has moved to his forever home, semi retired , just hacking round the farm and doing a little dressage. It's such a lovely end to his phenomenal career as he's back with the people who had him as 5/6/7 year old and competed him at HOYs along with all the other major shows in the UK and abroad! He walked back in to his old stable like he had never been away. We still own him but the Dunns will have him forever now.
So on to Bella. She had her MRI at the B&W Breadstone Clinic and all has come back OK. She's had an injection in her leg just to help her along the way and we are slowly bringing her back in to work so hopefully she'll be ready for the start of the outdoor season!
The new ride I gained, Billy Touch Down owned by the McGill family, has been going great! She's jumped double clear at every show and we've qualified for the blue chip championship out of 74 in our class! So we have some lovely shows to look forward to which is nice as these horrible cold days must be coming to an end soon!
We as a family had a great Christmas though I did pick up the flu so as from Boxing Day I was house bound and unfortunately wasn't able to compete at a show we had planned nor could I teach/ride for my owners, but after a few quiet days we were back to it! My first year of the season went great with Billy Touch Down jumping another super double clear to come 3rd, so now we're looking forward to her jumping a few bigger tracks and seeing what the future holds as she's a very talented mare!
I hope you all had a great Christmas and new year, and have a great January with the horses! Good luck and most of all have fun. Nikki xxx
