Nikki Baker - Showjumping
Well this month was slightly less busy!
Hope everyone has been out being successful but most of all having fun! I've only managed to fit in 2 shows, due to 4 birthdays in the family! (A very expensive month) my first show was Dorset showground, such a lovely place, if anyone fancies a weekend away with their horses with a great atmosphere and even better food, you must visit here! Bella had an unlucky pole, but is feeling super, Casey owned by Jodie Parker Hill, jumped a lovely round once she had stood up on her hind legs and waved to everyone coming to the first, and super Willy had a 3rd! Then it was on to my little mans 2nd birthday. I always say we will just have a few people round but I think we ended up with over 50! But he loves it and enjoyed his bouncy castle. The following week was full of juggling between, riding/teaching and being a mummy. I have some super horses I'm riding at the moment, whether it's full time or just to help the owner it's really enjoyable, I love seeing them come on in confidence, and enjoying themselves.
That following weekend we were away in Cambridgeshire for my brothers 30th. It really lovely to have our whole family together it only happens once or twice a year so it was definitely worth missing a show for. Once we got home on the Sunday Mark surprised me with a holiday so off we went again on the Wednesday with our little boy, mum kept the horses lunged and looked after them all week she is such a massive part of what I do. We had a great time away, the second I was back I was off ridding and teaching the same day! (Lucky I enjoy what I do) so my final show of the month was at Summerhouse EC, Casey jumped a lovely round and has changed so much over the last couple of months, Bella jumped a good round I just need to get out of the 4faultitus but super Willy paid for the day with a win in the 1.15cm. We've had a quiet month and haven't seen the B&W team once which isn't a bad thing as it means everything is going well, but it's brilliant to know they are always there day or night on the end of the phone!
I have a few shows on in July including a stay away one so let's hope our good run continues, but you can never be too sure, I'll just keep working hard at home and no doubt the horses will try there best for me, I wish you all luck and hope you have a fun month.
