Glenfiddich is the only approved son of jumping phenomenon Bacardi VDL (Corland x Kannan). Bacardi VDL jumps internationally with Jessica Sprunger. In 2013, Bacardi VDL won the silver medal at the World Championships for 7-year old Jumpers in Lanaken. He was impressive with his clear rounds and spectacular jumps. In the dam line of Glenfiddich we see sires Corrado I, Nimmerdor and Jalisco B who contriubute to his exceptional pedigree. Those famous stallions jumped at the highest level and produced numerous show jumpers with excellent talent for the big shows. Among their offspring are Corradina, Heartbreaker and Quidam de Revel.
Glenfiddich finds secure origins in one of France’s best dam lines. From this comes, among others, the Olympic stallion Papillon Rouge, the full-brother to Glenfiddich’s great-grand dam Olivia Rouge. Dam Tolivia was awarded ‘Elite, Prestatie and Preferent’ and grand dam Nolivia is ‘Keur and Preferent’, producing the 1.45m show jumper Volivia VDL. Some famous horses from this dam line are Bleu Blanc Rouge, Saphin Rouge, Quartz Rouge etc.
Glenfiddich is a well-developed stallion with amazing scope, great technique and a lot of jumping intelligence. He canters with a great deal of power and performed a good KWPN Stallion Test. In total he scored 79 points, to include an 8.5 for his scope. For canter, rideability and attitude, and talent as a jumper he scored 8’s. Glenfiddich is a show jumper with a great future ahead. After a recovery period from a colic surgery, Glenfiddich now is back under saddle again and ready to prove himself in sport.
Glenfiddich’s first foals are attractive and well-developed. They have a strong top-line and a powerful canter with suppleness and balance. Son, Lord of the Rings DN, was Reserve Champion of the CK Drenthe and placed 3rd in the final of the Dutch foal Championship. Another son, Liquer, was 4th in the CK Groningen.
Expected breeding value: 158.
